The Kindergarteners started the day listening with enthusiasm to the Shares Of The Day. They were very inspired by our Star of The Week, Julia's (and her sister Elyse's ) share where she showed a marble run made out of recyled materials. The children in the class would love to try and make these and we thought it would be a great activity for a Friday Fun. Therefore, we would love any recycled toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls and cardboard boxes. Thank you - feel free to send them as you collect them:-)
We also continued our conversation about MLK and focused on on our dreams for the world and for ourselves. I was amazed at the thoughts and hopes that the Kindergartners shared- hopes that everyone smiles at each other, hopes to become a police officer to keep everyone safe and being kind to others were just some examples of the Kindergartener's thoughts. These will be displayed in the cafeteria for the next school meeting.
During math today, we practiced writing our 4's and 5's. The class sounded very cohesive when all children were saying the chants as they traced and practiced their writing.
Our day ended with Adajah's mom, Elmide, joining our class to read One Fish , Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Thank you, again, for spending time with us. :-)
