Ms. Pirelli joined us this morning to read The Littlest Pilgrim. We looked at the expressions on the faces of the characters in the book to determine their thoughts and feelings. At the end of the story, Minny learns that she is not too young to make a new friend and reaches out to a new child in the community.
We continued our conversation about Thanksgiving as I read Pilgrims- Now and Then. The Kindergarteners were truly fascinated to learn about the lives of the Pilgrims, the Mayflower and the friendship of the Native Americans towards the Piligrims. We will continue this discussion over the next week as we also think about why Thanksgiving is a holiday where we are being thankful for all that we have.
The KIndergarteners drew their self-portraits for the month of November. Wow- have they improved! While looking in the mirror, the children worked hard to depict how their faces look and to draw what they saw as accurately as they could. Please come and check their portraits out- they are on our "Look At Me board!
