Today we added the Loser Birthday Song to our poetry folders. The children circled the word "you" and then wrote down their birthday months. We then sat by the "fire" and sang many of our favorite songs and poems.
Ms. Pirelli joined us today and read the book Decibella. This book describes 6 different voice volumes - from inside voices so loud "speak up" voices. We tried these different volumes using the word "Slurpadoodle". The Kindergartners had a lot of fun with this activity!
We also drew our December self-portraits today, focusing on following a step-by-step process. We have added the new self portraits to our "Look At Me Board".
Our day ended with science as we compared sawdust to wood shavings. We then added water to each of the cups with the sawdust and wood shavings and observed to see what happens. We noticed that when wood sinks, it is "water logged". Tomorrow we will making particleboard with our wood shavings and sawdust!
