After morning meeting, Ms. Pirelli joined our class to talk about size of the problem and matching our reaction to the size of the problem. She and I role played more situations and the children enjoyed figuring out if our reaction was appropriate in terms of the size of the problem.
Today we introduced a new poem about November and a new sight word- are. So far, we have learned the following sight words: like, you, the, me. We also sat around the fire and read all of our poems, practicing fluent reading and enjoying the songs are that in our poetry folder.
We also had Learning Centers this morning where children were engaged in Housekeeping, painting with sponge paint, using play do, and painting on the easel. Some Kindergarteners continued to enjoy playing Candyland, while others built with legos.
During math time, we looked at the cube towers we made earlier this week and created a graph based on how many letters in our names. We learned that most children have 6 or 7 letters in their name, while only one person has 3 letters in his name!
