During School Meeting, we learned about Caine's Arcade- Caine is a little boy in California who created an arcade out of cardboard boxes and recylced materials. As a PRIDE ticket reward, our whole school will be participating in a "Caine's Arcade" day on Tuesday, November 20th where we will make our own arcade games out of recyled materials! Ms. Pirelli joined our class today. We watched a movie clip from Monster' s Inc. where we identified different behaviors. We talked about the different zones and discussed how we can become calm when feeling angry, the way Sully was in the clip.
Very appropriately, Ms. Kaplan joined us next and gave us many different tools and suggestions for how to become calm and relaxed when in the blue or red zone. Your child's own "thermometer" and detailed letter from Ms. Kaplan are in your child's folder.
We ended our day with science and continued our discussion about wood. We identified objects in the classroom made of wood and went outside to identify things outside made of wood. Tomorrow, we will observe to see what happens when wood gets wet!
