The Kindergarteners had another busy day today! After morning meeting, the children added a new Penguin Poem to their poetry folders and circled all the sight words that could be found in their poem. We then sat around the fire and recited and sang our many poems.
During Writer's Workshop, the Kindergarteners were challenged to write a little story about Tacky The Penguin. All the children loved this activity and came up with some fabulous ideas- such as Tacky going to the library, Tacky going to Whole Foods and even Tacky going to the zoo. As we have noticed happens in the Tacky books, all the Kindergarten authors finished their stories with the words "Tacky was an odd bird, but a nice bird to have around." Ask your child what he/she wrote about!
During Math Stations, the Kindergarteners were busy making different choices based on addition activities, tally mark review, playing a game of "Mitten Addition" and flipping red and white chips to make addition and subtraction equations.
Tomorrow, we look forward to Open Share time and special time with our Technology teacher, Ms, Meyler during Friday Fun!
