This morning we were treated to a fabulous concert by the third, fourth, and fifth grade strings and band students! The Kindergarteners had a chance to listen and move their bodies to the many diffferent songs that were performed this morning.
During math this afternoon, we spent time differentiating between "height" and "length". After understanding these 2 terms, the children had a chance to measure the height of different items in the classroom. We then discussed what items were taller than we thought, or shorter than we thought.
Mr. Jones joined our class this afternoon and gave us a challenge which will start next week. We will be focusing on quiet and walking lines, folllowing the group plan during math ,and showing whole body listening when on the rug (including keeping thoughts in our thought bubble). We will try and fill one ten frame each day when these behaviors are noticed. Once we have 5 ten frames filled, we will have an extra learning center and or even a special art project! We are looking forward to accepting this challenge. Ask your child how he/she will help the class accomplish this goal. :-)
