We had our first School Meeting of 2018 today! Mr. Jones showed a video by Kid President speaking about Martin Luther King and told the school that just like MLK, they can also make a difference in our school and in our world. He talked about what children can do if they see someone rolling their eyes and telling someone they can't play. "What are you going to do?". I feel like our Kindergarteners have really taken this message to heart and do what to do what's expected to help others feel accepted and loved.
During Fundations, we learned the trick word "me". This word is not hard to read, but is a word that is found frequently. We found this word and our other trick (or sight words) . in the poem-The Loker School song- that we sang today.
Ms. Pirelli joined us today and read the book Fishy by Lio Lionni. As a Kindergartener said "if the fish didn't follow the group plan, nothing would have worked!". We role played some situations (putting on snow gear, listening during Fundations time ) which showed how important it is to follow the group plan to help your friends have good thoughts about you.
