We had a very busy morning! The Kindergarteners learned a new poem for January, helping them to spell the word "January" and to practice writing the numbers of the days in January. As we often do, we then sat around the fire and sang our new poem as well as some of our favorites!
We completed our Literacy Stations that we had started before vacation. The focus was on syllables- something that is quite tricky and it will be reviewed continuously throughout the year. Ms. Richlen and I also continued to read with children in guided reading groups.
During Math today, we talked about how to solve specific problems on Symphony Math and then helped children individually as they worked at their just right level at Symphony Math. I am also working individually with students to assess their math skills at this point of the year.
