Ms. Pirelli joined us this morning and read the book Waiting is Not Easy by Mo Willems. We introduced the term "self control" and discussed strategies when we're having a hard time with self control- strategies such as walking away, countng in your head, or putting your hands together were some suggestions.
We also learned a new January poem today and wrote all the numbers for the days in January! We then sat around the fireplace and sang some of our favorite poems, as well as our new one that was learned today.
During math today, we created matching mittens!! Working with a partner, the children had to make symmetrial miitens, taking turns with a partner to make and then copy their design. We look forward to displaying these for all to see! We also created some math addition and subtraction equations by acting out different story problems. Ask your child if he/she can tell you an addition story or a subtraction story!
