We continued our 100's day activities this morning! The Kindergarteners first walked through our special "you're 100 days smarter" banner and were very excited to also count our school days. We learned the poem "I can count up to 100" and worked on filling in a number board all the way to 100!
During RTI, the children worked in their skills-focused groups on beginning and ending sounds. Some children also read in guided groups, while others blended and segmented words.
During Writer's Workshop, many Kindergarteners finished and "published" (AKA stapled) their books and read them to the class. During this time, the children are working on putting their thoughts and ideas together into 4 page books! The published stories are being displayed on our bookshelf in the library.
We ended our day with a real treat- Sophia's mom, Kathy's mom , and Elyse and Julia's mom joined to teach us about Chinese New Year. We learned about traditions and customs behind Chinese New Year. Every child also received a red envelope with a monkey to represent the new year. Thank you so much to these moms for teaching us so much today! :-)
