We saw a fabulous performance this morning by Karim Nagi. He shared that he was from Egypt and brought many different types of musical instruments from this part of the world, explained how they were made, and played them for the school. The Kindergarteners were very engaged and learned a lot from this event. Thank you to the Cultural Enrichment for bringing this performance to us!
We learned a new poem today, helping us to spell the word February. The children also had a chance to practive writing numbers by filling in their February calendar.
We ended our day with our long-awaited STEAM project. After watching a quick video about birds' need for food in the winter, the children were asked to design a feeder for birds. They first worked alone to make a design, and then were guided to work with a partner to come up with a plan together. They then went ahead and made the feeder. We will hang these up after vacation and , like good scientists, see if our design worked or if it needs to be redesigned. Thank you to Cameran's mom, Deb, for helping us out today!
