We started our day with school meeting. During this time, we learned about Loose Change- a fundraiser to benefit the schools in Peru. There will be information about this fundraiser coming home in your child's backpack tomorrow. We also watched a video about "Caine's Arcade". Again, there is information about this video and our plan to have a DEC day next Friday. Please see your child's folder for important information.
We learned a new poem about February today which also helped us to spell the word "February". We discussed the fact that February is the shortest month of the year and practiced writing all the numbers in our February calendar.
Math time was spent in the computer lab where the Kindergartners used Symphony Math. Again, we reviewed common strategies to solve the problems that are presented on Symphony Math. We are encouraging the children to explain their thinking and to explain the tools they are using to solve an equation.
