Happy First Day of March! The Kindergarteners were excited to look at our new March calendar and learn about the important dates coming up this month. Dylan also shared about the Bulgarian custom of martenitsas which happens on March 1st. I have shared a picture of the explanation of this custom below. Thank you, Dylan, for teaching us about this tradition!
Josie's mom and dad came in as her Star Readers this morning and read 4 different books to us- some in some fabulous animated voices! Thank you for joining us today :-)
Ms. Pirelli joined us this morning as we discussed having a flexible brain vs having a rock/inflexible brain. The teachers acted out 2 scenarios (a school situation at lunch time and a home situation where they are asked to go to bed) to demonstrate the importance of a flexible brain. We emphasized that people have good thoughts about you when you have a flexible brain.
During Fundations, I introduced the "H brother- CH (who likes to be a train), TH (who likes to stick his tongue out), WH (who cries all the time), and SH (who helps make everyone be quiet). With humor, the children loved this story and we hope it helps them to remember these different digraphs.
