We started our morning by reviewing rhyming words as part of our morning meeting. We then had the pleasure of having Elyse's mom join as our Star Reader. Thank you so much for spending part of your day with us!
Ms Pirelli joined our class this morning and read Is It A Box?- a book about flexible vs. rock brain thinking. She discussed the way that flexible thinking can help us to solve problems and to help us have fun- at school and at home!
Our poem this morning was called "Five Little Leprachauns"- the children enjoyed reading it by the fire and then working on some "part, part whole" leprachaun activities on the back side of the paper. We also sang some of our other favorite poems right before lunch!
During math, we played a double ten frame game. For this game, children spun a spinner, represented their teen number (as ten and some more) and then decided whose number was larger. This game served as a way to reinforce our teen numbers and to help the children understand why the "1" is always written first.
