Leah's mom joined us this morning and read Amelia Bedelia. The children loved the humor and play-on-words in the story. Thank you, Irene, for sharing part of your day with us.:)
We learned a new poem today about spring. As we did, we reviewed our trick words. As always, we then sat around our "fire" and sang our new spring poem and some old favorites.
The Kindergarteners worked very hard during Writer's Workshop today. I worked with small groups of children on either making covers for their stories or editing their work. The most common editing was around capital letters and periods for their sentences.
During science, we started our focus on fabric. The Kindergarteners identified different types of fabric. We then discussed how some fabrics are the same and some are different. They then did a fabric hunt around the classroom. They then began writing in their science journal about their observations.
