Wow! I was beyond amazed by the Kindergarteners today as they started to write 4 page stories during Writer's Workshop. Each child used his/her map of the heart to help them think of a story and they went right to work! In fact, they were so sad when writing time was over, they asked if they could continue as morning work tomorrow! Some Kindergarteners thought about their story by drawing the pictures first (we will then help them with their writing), while others chose to write first. All felt proud of what they are now capable of doing!
We also introduced our new poem about March- as always, we also completed a March calendar, filling in all the numbers in the March calendar.
Max's dad joined us as his Star Reader and read Dragons Love Tacos. Thank you spending part of your day with us. :-)
During science, we watched a "Reading Rainbow" video about sea animals and what occurs under the sea. Tomorrow, we will take this information and use it to distinguish and classify different types of snails.
