The Kindergarteners had fun playing "Snap" as part of our morning meeting. Using a stick of ten unifix cubes, the children broke the stick according to the addend that I wrote on the board. We then figured out the missing addend to create a whole of 10. We will continue doing this activity as a way to build fluency within 10.
Anthony's mom joined us this morning as his Star Reader reading two books to our class. Thank you for spending more of your time with us! :-)
The children were so excited to receive letters from their Wellesley pen pals! They tore open the envelopes and couldn't wait to write back. We asked each child to answer the question from their pen pal and then to write 1 more sentence and a question. We will address the envelopes tomorrow morning. This is very exciting!
