The class was very excited to have Chloe's mom join us today as our Star Reader. She read 2 fabulous books to the class, including The Book With No Words by BJ Novak.
We finished our math stations today, and also worked on missing addends as part of our morning message. Subtraction is more challenging for many in our class and we will continue to work on this over the next few weeks.
We also learned a poem today to help us spell the word "they", entittled "There is no A in THEY". We then sat around a sunset scene and read this poem as well as many more in our poetry folders.
The Kindergarteners were also so excited to open their letters from the Wellesley pen pals! The children read their letters and wrote back. This experience has been a fabulous one to teach the Kindergarteners how to write a greeting in a letter, a closing, and to write meaningful words and questions. We look forward to meeting our pen pals in June.
