We started the day by completing the "addition" and "subtraction" people that we started yesterday! The Kindergarteners did a great job figuring out and recording different ways to make 5, 6, or 7. Our creations are outside the classroom for you to check out- we will be making more next week, too...
We learned the poem "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" today and were surprised by the amount of sight words that were in this poem! The children were asked to complete a maze to get the ball to the baseball glove. We then sat around the "river" and sang lots of our poems from our poetry folder.
We had a fire drill at the end of afternoon recess today. The children did a great job with this unexpected time in our day and lined up and walked to our "meeting place" on the back field. We did a quick debrief discussion when we came back to the classroom.
We continued to talk about Glass Man today- the Unthinkable who tries to make us have big reactions to small problems. Thanks to Ms. McManus, we have a chart where we discuss the problem, the size of our feelings towards the problem, the size of the problem, the size of our reaction, and then if our behavior was expected or unexpected. You can see a picture of our chart below.
We ended our day with Annabel's dad, Chris, joining us as our Mystery Reader. He read the book Jane and Me which is a story about Jane Goodell. Thank you for spending some time with us today!
