We started our day finishing what we ended with yesterday! The Kindergarteners had a blast tallying up many things in our classroom- they loved walking around and keeping track in this way. It was a fun way to start the day:-)

During Writer' s Workshop, we spent time learning how to write "How-To" directions. to begin this task (which can be tricky,) the Kindergarteners were given 4 pictures that they had to sort in order- they could choose how to bake cookies, how to brush your teeth, or how to get ready for school. They then had to use words to describe the pictures. Others chose to write more letters and some continued their stories.
For science, we reviewed the parts of a tree and then went outside and did bark rubbings. The Kindergarten scientists observed how the bark is different on each type of tree.
