Alex's mom joined us this morning and read Don't Blink! The children loved the challenge of not blinking and humor that the book portrayed. Thank you for joining us this morning!
Ms. Pirelli also joined us this morning and we talked about the way we may feel when feeling excluded. We emphasized that these feelings happen whether or not a teacher is there. We have been hearing about excluding behavior happening at recess , when teachers are not around. Hopefully, this conversation will help the Kindergarteners show integrity and do what is expected.
We learned one of my favorite poems today- "I Have Something In My Pocket" as we talked about the things that make us smile. The poem was also a great way to review many of the trick words we have learned thus far this year, including have and of which we added today to our repertoire.
We spend math time in the computer lab using Symphony Math. Seeing an equation written such as "8=5+3" is still a bit tricky for many and something we will continue to review. Using the number line as a tool was another strategy we continue to reinforce during this time.
