We started our morning by visiitng the chicks in Ms. Germaine's First Grade class! The children were very excited to see the chicks, since they have been hearing them chirping as we walk by the First Grade classrooms. They are looking forward to the opportunity to touch and hold the chicks when they are in First Grade.
We also had an Open Circle today to talk about recess. Four Square and basketball have been challenging for many. It did seem helpful to talk about the rules, to discuss what is expected and unexpected and to explain that "no one is in charge".
We introduced the sight word "of" during Poetry and the Kindergartners completed their first word search! We then sat around the fire (heat was needed today) and sang many of our favorites.
We finished the day with math stations. Children worked on showing their work and explaining their thinking. Ask your child which 3 stations they went to today.
