The Kindergarteners learned a new poem for the month of May today. They had a chance to circle the sight words that they recognized. The children were also asked to trace and write the days in May. We also used this opportunity to learn the sight word "of".
During Reader's Workshop, we reviewed the reading strategies that we have learned this year. The Kindergarteners were encouraged to use these strategies as they read independently. Ms. Dennehy read with individual children during this time while I continued meeting with book groups of 3 or 4 students.
Heather's mom, Dianna Maddocks, joined us as Mystery Reader to end our day today. She read the fantastic book called The Snail and The Whale. . It was a great way to end the day!
