The Kindergarteners did such a great job during their first Loker school meeting today! They watched a skit about friendship and learned about the importance of including friends and being nice to others.
Ms. PIrelli, the school psychologist and guidance counselor, visited our classroom today and read the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today?. She talked with us about the fact that we all have an invisible bucket. When it is filled by people being kind to us, including us, and showing respect our bucket is filled. We fill other people's buckets by acting in this same manner. Our goal is to be a bucket filler. As a class, we have a bucket that we will be filling with pompoms! When the bucket is filled, we will have a class party!
Ms. Lepow, the Math Coach also joined us today and read a book about sea life in the ocean. The children had a chance to point and count as she read. Ms. Lepow will be joining us regularly during math.
We also started new Handwriting stations today as we continue to make our hands and power fingers strong. Ask your child what he/she did during this time (the pictures below might give them some hints...)
