We started our day with School Meeting in the gym (with our new sound system- thanks to the WPSF)-- we watched a PRIDE skit about the expected way to treat "guest teachers" and Mr. Jones shared that he is looking for ideas for a new Loker mascot. We also celebrated birthdays and sang the Loker school song as a community.
After reading Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom, the children created their Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree with their names in glitter! This activity also reviewed how to properly use glue and to follow multi-step directions. We look forward to displaying these for all to see!
Ms. Pirelli also joined us today and read No Fits, Nelson. She used this book as a introduction to many upcoming lessons we will have about "size of the problem". Ms. Pirelli explained the importance of matching the size of one's reaction to the size of the problem.
We were also lucky enough to have Ms.Kaplan join us ! She reviewed the power fingers with us and we listened and danced to more songs with her about these important fingers. Next week, we look forward to learning more about how to properly use scissors with her.
