We started our morning by having Ms. Pirelli join our class to read Thinking Thoughts and Feeling Feelings. We then had a discussion with Ms. Pirelli about looking at people's body language and facial expressions to figure out how one might be feeling. We also talked about the importance of matching one's thought bubble to the group's thought bubble.
We also formally introduced "The Pledge of Allegiance" and reviewed the meaning of the different phrases. The children were then asked to cut and glue the appropriate picture to the correct phrase. We hope that this will help the Kindergarteners understand the Pledge of Allegiance in a more concise way when hearing the Pledge as part of the morning announcements.
We also introduced the use of a thermometer this afternoon. We color coded each 10 degrees of the thermometer in the colors of the rainbow showing cold to hot. The Kindergarteners then cut and glued the clothing that would go with each different temperature on the thermometer.
