Today we talked about Double D's during Open Circle. There is a letter in your child's folder with more information about Double D's- which are behaviors that are dangerous or destructive. When there is Double D Behavior, it is important for a teacher to know. Tomorrow we will talk about annoying behavior and how to handle this type of behavior. Stay tuned!
We completed our last page in our All About Me books this morning! The children wrote and shared about their favorite books and why. We then transitioned to our first independent reading time for Reader's Workshop. This was very successful and the Kindergarterners showed comfort in looking at a simple, repetitive book and trying to figure out the words based on the picture.
For math, Ms. Richlin taught the class how to count a "scattered array" and why it is important to organize the items that you are counting. The Kindergarteners then completed a sheet where they drew a line from item to item to count accurately.
Mrs. Holmes joined us at the end of the day and read the book The Empty Pot. Thank you for spending part of your afternoon with us! :-)
