Today we continued to review the letters and sounds that we have learned thus far. The children used this knowledge to write about their 4 favorite things they like to do well. They continue to become very excited when stretching out words and recognizing familiar sounds.
During Open Circle, I introduced 3 containers- one for "mistakes I am going to make", "mistakes", and "what I learned from my mistake". We talked about the importance of making mistakes and how things don't stay long as a mistake, but instead become lessons to be learned. The Kindergarteners spent a lot of time today feeling proud of their mistakes! :-)
We read the book The Three Little Misses and The Big Bad Wolf which Claire brought in to share with the class.The children enjoyed reciting the familiar words on "huff and puff and blow the house down" as we read together.
We continued our math stations today where we continued to focus on more than and less than. The children are enjoying their independence during this time, while at the same time focusing on the skills of more than, less than, and accurate counting.
We ended our day with Chloe's mom joining us as a Mystery Reader. She read The Best Nest. Thank you for spending your time with us!
