While I was at a science conference, the Kindergarteners had a terrific day with Ms. Richlen and Mr. Walters. They continued to think about the sounds of "M" and "N" and sorted words by their beginning sounds as part of our morning meeting. During Fundations time, the children did a cut and glue sort thinking of the beginning sounds of "t, f, and b".
During math, the KIndergarteners completed their math number books. Counting accurately and representing each number continued to be our focus during this time.
Our Open Circle focused on non-verbal signals. A non-verbal signal is something that you do without talking which gives others a message. For example, raising your hand, giving a ESL "me too" signal. We brainstormed other non-verbal signals and we encourage the children to use these during our day, especially if they have something that they really want a friend/teacher to know.
