Today we reviewed tattling vs. telling during Open Circle and I reminded the Kindergarteners that others have good thoughts about you when you tell (for Double D's) vs. tattle. The children seem to understand this concept, but understanding it during the moment can be challenging.
The Kindergarteners did a great job writing about why they like fall. We reviewed our "trick words" and the fact that "I" is always capitalized. We look forward to sharing these with you- their writing is displayed on our bulletin board.
Ms. Lepow joined us during math today. We began by practicing how to properly write the numbers 1, 2, 3 by reviewing our rhymes for each number. We then had math stations where children worked with me and Ms. Lepow to determine more or less by comparing towers, played "Salute" with Ms. Lewis (similar to "Headbands", but with numbers), walked and jumped on the number line with Ms. Richlen, spilled the beans with Ms. Meindel, and used Number School to help with number writing! It was a very busy time.
Our day ended with Mackenzie, Mirabel's older sister (and a room one "alum), and Cordia (another Room 1 Alum) to be our Mystery Reader. Thank you for joining us, Mackenzie- it was very special to have you back in Room One! :-)
