We started our morning with our "caring and sharing" share where children had the chance to check in and tell their classmates and teachers anything that was their minds! We loved hearing about Grandma's dog and about trips to go out for ice cream. I shared that this information gets added to my mind file on each child in our class and helps me to ask questions and have conversations. Ask your child if he/she remembers anything that was shared this morning!
We also continued with our fairy houses this morning. Tomorrow will be our last official day of this activity, but I have a feeling it may continue on in an informal way.. :-) The children continued to work together, problem sovle, and then reflect on the process of building during our reflection time each day. On Friday, we will do a "group write" (where the class dicates thoughts and ideas and I write) about building our fairy houses.
We also learned the letters "P" and "D" today. The Kindergarteners did a "wet, dry, try" for each letter then completed a worksheet for each letter. The children have now learned the expected way to write E, F, P, and D.
We finished our math stations today! The children enjoyed checking their work by counting backwards and counting on with an existing number. Tomorrow we will be making math spiders!
