Today we talked about tattling vs. telling during Open Circle. Tattling is when you tell to get someone in trouble. Telling is when it's important that an adult know, especially if there is a behavior that is dangerous or destructive. Ms. Dennehy and I role played situations where we demonstrated the importance of thinking about a situation and then deciding what to do.
After reading The Family Book by Todd Parr (our new author study!), we continued with our Literacy Stations. Children continued to sort and play BINGO based on beginning sounds, while others read independently, worked on Lexia, or read with me in a guided reading group. We are continuing to focus on schema as we read connecting what we already know with what we are reading.
Math stations continue to be about comparing and using the language "more than" and "less than" when comparing left to right. Thank you to Magali Black, Sam's mother, for joining us today!
We ended our day with Saanchi's dad joining as our Mystery Reader after choice time. Thank you for spending some of your afternoon with us:-)
