Today we discussed compliments during Open Circle as one of the best presents you can give someone. I went around the circle and gave each child a specific compliment (which was very easy to do!) to which they were asked to respond with "thank you". We talked about how good it felt to receive a compliment and that you can give a compliment at anytime and to anyone! We hope you and your family start to receive many specific compliments from your children!:-)
We introduced the letters v-van-v and w-wind-w during Fundations time and practiced properly writing these 2 letters. We also brainstormed words that start with V and W. The children also enjoyed writing more CVC words on their white boards while thinking about proper formation of each letter.
The Kindergarteners also completed a packet today about "then" and "now" as we thought about the Pilgrims and the things that they had then (such as quills instead of pens) and what we have now. The children worked hard to complete this activity- it will be coming home in their folders tomorrow.
We ended the day with Donny's mom joining us as Mystery Reader. Thank you for spending part of your afternoon with us.:-)
