The Kindergarteners were very excited to turn over another letter in our alphabet today! We turned over the letter C - Clicking Camera and brainstormed words that begin with the letter C. We also started new Literacy Centers today. The children enjoyed being at "Read It, Write It Stamp It" which focuses on reviewing our sight words. They also continued to work in their All About Me books and are drawing and writing about their families. We will continue these tomorrow.
We started math today by ordering numbers. Each child had a number and when a number was called, the children had to figure out if their number was before or after the "target number". We continued our math stations today. The Kindergarteners worked with a partner to count and compare, while others played Top It continuing to use the words "greater than" and "less than" to compare 2 numbers. Tomorrow, we will use our bodies to do measurements around the classroom. Stay tuned!!
Sophie, our Star of The Week, shared 3 items in her mystery bag that began with "S". Her clues were fabulous and they helped the Kindergartners figure out that she brought a snowman, a sharpie, and sunscreen in her bag!
We have also started a new author study about Kevin Henkes. Yesterday we read the book Julius, Baby of The World. Today we read Chyrsanthemum. So far, we have noticed that all of Kevin Henkes' characters are mice. We are also enjoying enjoying using our "story stars" to help ask and then answer questions about the books we are reading.
