Oliver's mom joined us this morning as his Mystery Reader. Thank you for spending time with us this morning! :-)
We read the book The Smallest Girl in The Smallest Grade and discussed that no matter how small or little you are, your voice is important! We, as we have done for the past week, related this book to MLK and talked about the importance of speaking up for what you believe. The Kindergarteners then did a writing response where they shared their plan to make a change, both at home and at school. This writing will be displayed in our classroom.
We started new Math Stations today. The children working with me told number stories and then predicted how many there would be at the end. We then continued to practice writing number equations to go with our stories. At the review station, children recorded their comparisons of number shapes with a partner, while others played "one more, one fewer:, reinforcing the concept of one more and one less.
