This morning we spent time during Open Circle talking about what it means to just worry about yourself. We have noticed that children sometimes will tattle on others when being asked to do something rather than taking care of what they need to do. We hope that this conversation will help make it clear what is expected.
We also spent time thinking about our wish for the New Year. We read Twas The Night Before New Years and then wrote what we are looking forward to doing in 2018. Ask your child what he/she thought about...
During math we continued our math stations. The Kindergarteners really enjoyed using the pan balances and we will continue to use these after vacation. We also continued counting (and re-counting to make sure we were accurate) a pile of cubes. If you are able, feel free to reinforce this activity over the vacation week by having your child help you count scattered arrays that you find your journeys:-)
We ended our day with Anthony's sister joining us as our Mystery Reader. Thank you for spending part of your afternoon with us, Addie! :-)
