During Open Circle today we talked about the yellow light when problem solving. After brainstorming solutions to a problem, it is important to evaluate if the idea is a good one or a bad one. We tried this strategy when we thought about jumping in a puddle. What would the consequences be? After brainstorming for 30 seconds (the class loves the timer for this process!), we looked at every outcome and decided if jumping in a puddle was a good choice or not a good choice.
During Fundations, we blended words orally as well as using the pocket chart. For many, listening to blend words is a skill that is still developing. We also learned how to write the capital letters "O" and "P".
During math, we reviewed how to write an addition and subtraction equation and finished our math stations. Telling a story based on an equation can still be .a bit tricky so this is something we will continue to practice.
Thank you to Donny's mom for helping us during this time- the children enjoyed playing Uno with you!
