We started our day by pairing up with a classmate based on our teen number during morning meeting. I then asked each pair to tell a number based on their number. This was a good review of story telling as well as recognition of our tricky teens!
Maggie brought in 3 items that start with the letter "M" in honor of her Star of The Week week- the class did a good job figuring out her items based on the clues that were given! We then transitioned to drawing our self-portraits for the month of January- they keep getting better and better!
We continued our Literacy Centers this morning- every guided reading group now has a new book in their book bin which I will ask the children to practice reading during Quiet Time. We reviewed the strategy of "Eagle Eye"- next week I will introduce "Lips The Fish"!.
During math, we finished our math stations. The Kindergarteners enjoyed using our new "write-on" table to show part-part-whole. We also continued to reinforce the fact that we start our numbers at the top! Also, the Kindergarteners told number stories in partners based on a given math equation.
