Today we welcomed a new student teacher, Lauren Gambon, to our classroom. Ms. Gambon is a sophomore at Framingham State and will be joining us in her field practice on Tuesday mornings. The children did a great job introducing themselves and wearing nametags to help Ms. Gambon know their names.
We introduced our writing packets today during Writer's Workshop after reviewing the new Writer's Workshop folders. We talked about using the Map Of The Heart as a place to look for ideas before planning and then writing your story. Writer's Workshop is one of my favorite parts of the day- it is a challenging time for many children as they need to use many different skills- thinking of an idea, phonics skills, and writing skills all at the same time. Feel free to brainstorm with your child for story ideas- these can be as simple as going for a walk, making dinner, or even a bedtime routine.
We finished our Math Stations today- thank you to Clara O'Brien for joining us today! The Kindergarteners worked hard to tell number stories based on a given equation. They will write their own stories next week!
We ended the day with Learning Centers and a Star Reader. Thank you to Di Maddocks for joining us this afternoon.
