Today we started new Literacy Centers. The children enjoyed using Lego blocks to create sight words and they also liked playing a "POP-IT" game to think about ending sounds. I continued to meet with children in small groups to talk about reading strategies as we read books.
We also had the chance to guess Evan's clues for his Star of The Week. Thank you, Evan, for our challenge today! Evan's secret items were an elephant and an eraser!!
We completed our math stations this afternooon- the children are continuing to be experts on part, part, whole and making equations using their "part, part, and whole". We will start a unit on geometry next week, while continuing to practice our number sense!
We ended our day with Learning Centers. The children worked hard and had a blast! Some created the Titanic with straws, while others make chainsaws out of paper! Others made Dr. Seuss book marks,w hile others played tic-tac-toe. It was a great end to our day.
