We started our morning by doing an activity with position words during Morning Meeting. Children were asked to give a direction (above, below, next to, in between) to describe where a specific shape should go. Each child followed the directions to see if they could follow what was being asked. Everyone did a great job with this challenge! We continued thinking about shapes during math today as we completed the Math Stations that we started last week. Next week, we will begin exploring 3-dimensional shapes!
Saorise's mom, Ciara, came in this morning to teach us a little bit about St. Patrick's Day. The Kindergarteners loved learning that because of St. Patrick, there are no snakes in Ireland!
During Phonics today we introduced the H brothers. At the "H house" there are 3 brothers- the CH brother who thinks he is a train, the WH brother who cries all the time, the TH brother who sticks his tongue out, and the wonderful SH brother who says "SHHHH". Ask your child to tell you the rest of the story!
We ended the day with Learning Centers today where we worked on changing our classroom from winter to spring. We made butterflies, used colorful papers for coloring, built with legos, and used playdough to make all sorts of things. We hope this rain continues to help the flowers grow for spring!
