We started our morning by writing a group letter to Ms. Johnson to thank her for her donation of items to our Housekeeping Area as well as puppets for recess. As we wrote the letter together, we focused on beginning and ending sounds, vowels, as well as the simple construction of a sentence.

We also introduced the sound of short "o" today- sick fox and sounded out the sounds of CVC, one syllable words.  We focused on vowel sounds at our sort and sight words at our BINGO game.  The children also received new books during their guided reading time and we continued to use the strategies of Eagle Eye and Lips the Fish to figure out unknown words.

We continued with math stations this afternoon.  As a class we also brainstormed number bonds for the number 5 and then wrote equations. Tomorrow, we will begin to focus on polygons and looking at shapes with lines and curves.
