We started our morning with our Star Reader. Emily David's mom read us the book Of Thee I Sing- a book written by Barack Obama to his daughters. The children in our class were familiar with many of the famous Americans mentioned in the book. It was a great way to start the day!
After art and recess, we transitioned to RTI where all the groups worked on sound blending and segmenting. There is a lot of focus right now and the vowel sounds and remembering that every word has a vowel.
During math stations today, the Kindergarteners were introduced to the word quadrilateral and used it to describe shapes such as squares, rectangles, rhombuses and trapezoids. See if your child can identify any quadrilaterals (shapes with 4 sides) at your house!
