The Kindergarteners enjoyed guessing Elsie's clues today for her Star of The Week mystery bag. Her Mystery Items were an elephant, Elmo, and Elsa. Thank you, Elsie, for your great clues- we had fun!
The children also did their self portrait for April today. After doing a mini lesson and giving specific tips for drawing their faces, the Kindergarteners did an outstanding job- please come and see your child's new self-portrait- they are hanging up in our classroom :-)
During Reading Workshop, I introduced the concept of "reading for treasures." We talked about the fact that each page has a treasure- it could be a picture that you like, a sentence you can read and find interesting, or a new fact that you learned. We read You Are A Bee and shared the treasures we found on each page.
We also started new math stations this afternoon. We are continuing to work on number bonds and using number bonds to create equations- both addition and subtraction. The children also continued to play Quirkle and explore geo boards. Others completed a dice roll activity, using tally marks.
