Our Open Circle this morning focused on "groups" and the many different groups to which we belong. I shared that I belong to groups that are moms, that are teachers, that are runners, that are skiers, and that are readers because those are some things in which I am interested. Children shared what groups they belong to (including boy/girl and even countries where our families are from). Tomorrow we will continue this conversation by asking "can we assume everyone is the same if they're part of a group?" and "how can we join a group?" and "how do we find out people in a group?" . It should be a very interesting discussion.
We figured out Brian's mystery items today as part of his Star of The Week week. Brian brought in a bathtub (!!), a blue crayon, and a ball!
We drew our self-portraits for April/May today. As always, Ms. Dennehy modeled how to best draw ourselves. Each child took this exercise very seriously and , using a mirror, drew themselves to their best ability.
We finished up our math stations this afternoon as we continued to think about writing equations and different combinations to create a specifici number. Tomorrow we will play "top-it addtion" to continue practicing these skills.
