We read Alexander and The Wind up Mouse by Lio Lionni as part of our new author study. The children stopped and predicted many parts of this story as well as answered many of my "why" questions as we read. Lio Lionni is one of my favorite authors with many wonderful stories. If you're at the library with your child, I highly recommend taking a book out that is written and illustrated by him.
Today we guessed Chloe's clues- they were tricky because Chloe had items that started with "C" and "CH"- Chocolate milk, cheese, and a cat! Thank you, Chloe, for the great clues.
During Fundations, we had a dictation using trick words and CVC words. The Kindergartners did a great job knowing to begin their sentence with a capital letter, to end it with a capital letter, and how to spell words such as "moth" and "sick".
We continued the math stations which we started yesterday, continuing to focus on missing addends and writing equations. We are also using the terms "part, part, whole" to represent the different parts of a number arrangement.
Sam's grandparents joined us at the end of the day as our Mystery Readers. Thank you for spending part of your day with us! We loved having you in our class. :-)
