The Kindergarteners reviewed their sight words at morning meeting by finding a person who had the same sight word as they did. They were then asked to make a sentence with their sight word. This was a great way to mix up the students a bit and encourage them to work with new children.
After reading I Have To Go by Robert Munsch the Kindergarteners continued to work on their scenery and props for their plays. We then had the children perform and practice their skits in front of the class! Wow! They did an amazing job reading fluently, and reading all the strategies taught this year to figure out unknown words.
During math, we started new math stations. Children played Jenga which had equations on each brick, while others played Make 10 Bingo with Ms. Dennehy. I worked with children on missing addends and combinations to 9- a skill which was helpful to review with all children.
We ended the day practicing for our Open House tomorrow night. The Kindergartners are very excited to share all they have learned with you!
