We started our morning by matching up addition and subtraction equations with their correct sum or difference. When a partner was found, the children were asked to greet their partner and then tell a story with their equation. To solve the equations that were given, some Kindergarteners used the number line, while others used the unifix cubes.
During Reader's Workshop, the Kindergarteners started to make props for their Fable and Fairy Tale plays. Using paper, feathers, tracers, glue, and scissors, the children had such fun being creative where the directions were that "anything goes" as long as they were using supplies appropriately and carefully. We are planning to perform these plays for the other Kindergarten next week. There is a slight possibiliity that they will also be performed at our Open House!
We continued our math stations that we started yesterday as we continue to focus on tricky teens and groups of ten. We also spent time re-thinking and remaking our rain gauges. We will check on them tomorrow to see if our "water-proof" rain gauges work better than our first rain gauges.
