To get ready for tomorrow's field trip (there is a note in your child's folder with a reminder of what to bring/wear, etc), we read the book I Am An Apple and discussed the life cycle of an apple. The children then completed their own sheet about the life cycle of the apple, even using the apple to stamp a star (from the center of the apple)!
We also learned the sound of 2 new letters - B-bat- b and F-fun-f. We practiced writing "t" and introduced how to properly write a "b". We will learn how to write an "f" on Thursday, while reviewing the other letters.
We continued our math stations this afternoon - we are noticing an improvement in the children's abilities to count and then represent their counting more accurately. Counting and sorting will be our math focus for the months of September and October.
